This was made in 1999.
In case you people are not aware, this was made in 1999 with Flash 4. It is VERY old. The Newgrounds portal didn't even appear until 2000.
Congratulations! Now go play a real game already!
Way to spoil the ending :(
It looks like someone just discovered how to use hitTest and made a sub-par worse than Klik & Play mario game. It also has uncompressed mp3s stuck inside, a recipe for blamination.
wow thank for the support and by the way the review helped me endlessly:::)
Nice, but you didn't do anything.
You just recorded a bunch of mp3s from a classic video game, stuck them inside a flash container, then submitted it to newgrounds. At least you picked decent bitrates for the music, unlike most flash makers.
The screenshots are nicecly selected, except the orange text could use a shadow behind it to it easier to read.
Maybe you could make the buttons stop the other sounds, then start the new sound.
Well, you are somewhat right. Yeah, I did "rip" these from the game, but that is work (actually, one of my best friends helps me out sometimes, and this is one of those time). Yes, I make sure I compressed the files, for if it were not done properly, the file size would JUMP EXCEEDINGLY (can't stress that enough). I submit these to Newgrounds because there was never a series dedicated to strictly video game music, and I think some video game BGM's are better than some melodies from today's songs. Thanks for the review!
Terrible play control
The aiming is extremely imprecise! There is no aiming guide line to show you the direction your ball will travel, and no crosshairs to indicate the actual mouse cursor position, just a hiding of the mouse cursor and a drag object.
The game is also very hard, many shots require many trials, even varying by a single pixel each time. 10 is a very conservative estimate for some of the holes.
There's also an annoying bug when the ball stops inside a wall, it keeps playing the bounce sound effect constantly.
Well, since you feel so strongly about it, a power/direction indicator has been added.
Nesticle .42 generated mario music
Nesticle .42 generated mario music... Nuff said. Use a real emulator, like VirtuaNES.
In the meantime, check out the Mario game I made that is actually playable.
Yours is in the "don't upload me yet" stage. It could be made better, but don't upload unfinished crap.
Nice easter eggs...
I like how you go thru the game for a second quest with the gun. Then int the next quest, for some reason, I had telekinetic powers that made the old people get hit whenever I was in the same row as them. (BUG?) Then Osama bin laden appeared, beat him up a few times.
It's just a dodging game...
There's no real magic behind it, just an animation of a moving track that plays while you hold up, then you dodge some meteorites. I'll probably eventually make a REAL mario kart type game in flash someday...
It was good...
Until three immortal enemies started attacking me after I used the blaster. They came back to life and couldn't get hit. That's a pretty major bug.
I thought this game was cool when I found it a long time ago on your site. I finally got the hidden stage (get lots of points to unlock it!). There's also a bug in the game: you can press the arrows multiple times to get more points if you press the keys fast enough.
I just ripped the MP3 from the game, and I'll add it to my playlist.
I just love that damn Bartman theme turned up to 2x speed!
So, how are you supposed to get to that random quote spitter at the end of the .SWF file?
